Martin Kajzar, Ph.D., MBA 

Martin Kajzar is a distinguished tenor, musicologist, and cultural producer whose career bridges performance, scholarship, and international artistic collaboration. A graduate of the University of Ostrava and Charles University in Prague, he combines a passion for opera with expertise in music management and production within the cultural and creative industries. 

As a performer, Kajzar's artistry spans genres – from classical to rock and folklore – with nearly three dozen CD recordings to his credit. He has appeared on prestigious stages with ensembles such as the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic, and the Czech Ensemble Baroque, and has been featured at leading festivals including Janáček May, Janáček Hukvaldy, and the St. Wenceslas Music Festival. His international engagements have taken him across Europe and beyond, with performances in Poland, Italy, Iceland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine, Turkey, and Sardinia. He is also a member of the acclaimed Friš Cimbalom Music.

Beyond the stage, Kajzar is a driving force in the cultural scene, producing festivals and international projects that unite artists across genres and borders. He has directed the International Festival of Slavic Music and collaborated with celebrated figures including Milan Kundera, Dagmar Pecková, Norbert Lichý, David Eben, Wiesław Ochman, and Dalibor Karvay.

As a scholar, Kajzar specializes in German Romantic opera and is the author of several influential publications, including the monograph Josef Alois Ticháček – První wagnerovský tenor (2016) and the popular book Legends of Baník (2022). His research and reflections are regularly published in leading music journals and online platforms.

Recognized for his excellence, Kajzar is a laureate of the Rector's Award of the University of Ostrava for outstanding scientific and research achievements and a Bayreuther Festspiele scholarship holder. He is also an esteemed jury member for international competitions in Italy, Israel, Malta, Ukraine, Latvia, and North Macedonia.
